Make it sparkle- with Aglow Trio!

Aglow Trio is a classical music ensemble comprised of flutist Karen McLaughlin Large, oboist Alyssa Morris, and pianist Amanda Arrington. Combining their extensive experience as soloists, chamber musicians, and educators with years of close friendship, they have created something truly special. Aglow Trio is dedicated to bringing light and optimism to their audiences. By carefully curating programs aimed at highlighting new and unique voices and promoting positivity, Aglow strives to leave their audiences feeling inspired and uplifted.  They have performed multiple tours in the US and abroad, are American Prize Finalists, and recorded and released their first album “The Light Is The Same” through Radium Recordings.

Composition and Improv

AGE: All Ages / Bring your instruments!
DESCRIPTION: Dive into the art of musical storytelling! Students will collaboratively create an original composition, exploring rhythm, melody, and group improvisation. At the end, the piece will be ready to share with an audience during Aglow Trio's concert.

Music and Art

Infusing Musicality into Your Performances
AGE: Middle School through Adult / Bring your instruments!
DESCRIPTION: Take your playing to the next level with insights on adding depth and expression to your music. This workshop will cover tips for refining your style, communicating emotions, and standing out in auditions or competitions.

 Music, Art, and Listening Adventure
AGE: Young children and parents
DESCRIPTION: A playful class where music meets art! Children and parents will explore music through storytelling, creating art, and listening activities that spark the imagination and foster a love for music.

Recording 101 and Open Recording Session
AGE: Late Elementary through Adult
DESCRIPTION: Amanda will offer tips on setting up for your own at-home recordings, covering everything from sound quality to camera angles. Then you’ll have the opportunity to have your prepared solo recorded by Amanda. (Your final, professional video will be emailed to you within a week!)

 Life as a Professional Musician with Aglow Trio
AGE: Middle School through Adult
DESCRIPTION: Ever wondered what it's like to live a musical life? Join the Aglow Trio for a Q&A session on navigating careers in music. Discover the many paths and passions that can shape a fulfilling musical career.

Guitars Rehearse with Karen
The guitar class will rehearse with Karen for a piece that will be performed at Aglow Trio’s concert later that afternoon!
