The Music Academy values excellent teaching within a joyful working environment. We stay focused on our mission of serving our community by providing all students in the Rockford region with high-quality music education regardless of age, ability, or income - because of this we are able to accomplish meaningful educational opportunities for our students which help them grow into successful, thoughtful, and creative people.
Teaching Artists: Cello and Violin
The Music Academy is excited to announce a new pilot program intended to ensure equitable access to a high-quality strings music education. Our Connections program will provide a free afterschool music program at Constance Lane Elementary School and serve students in 2nd- 5th grade. Maximum of 30 students. Program includes instrument, small group instruction, large ensemble time, teambuilding/homework time for students, and snack.
Teaching Artists will work closely with and report to the program director in following through with an engaging and effective curriculum. They will take a critical role in shaping the quality and tone of the overall program.
Teaching Artists ensure the highest quality experience for each student. They will serve as instructor, mentor, and positive adult figure in each child’s life and holistically support every student. They understand the Suzuki philosophy that Every Child Can and will work to find ways to best serve each child musically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally.
