Amy Jensen

Amy is a retired music educator of 34 years having vocal, choral, piano and instrumental education teaching experience in the St Charles School District (2 years) , Hononegah High School (30 years) and Rockford Christian (2 years). 

She is a graduate of Illinois State University (her home town) and masters recipient in Music Education from Northern Illinois University.  She was the 2020 recipient of the Rockford Symphony Music Educator. Currently she is enjoying being a supervisor for student music teachers of NIU. 


She has been married to Kevin Jensen for 44 years, has 3 grown children (Amanda, Dan and Ryan) and adores her 5 grandchildren Ian, Mia, Connor, Liam and Levi. 

She is involved in her church’s choir, bells and contemporary worship team. 

Amy loves participating in community theater at Starlight Theater and gathering with friends for dinner, shopping, lake visits. She loves traveling, biking, playing piano, singing,  swimming, gardening, walking and pilates. 

She is thrilled to be a part of the Music Academy team bringing educational music experiences to the Rockford area community.
